God’s in his Heaven, all’s right with the world

Just a short update on blog-related matters, feel free to skip this if you can’t be bothered. No, the title isn’t a reference to Evangelion, it’s actually Hideaki Anno referencing Pippa Passes, all two lines of it.

Past few days post-Reitaisai has been madness because I’ve been finding it hard to tear myself away from the PC — with regards to albums I’ve gotten two from Tamusic (Touhou Violin 4, Kanon Violin), a new ADVENT CIRNO soundtrack by mistbell, dBu music’s latest entitled courante impromptu (remixes in the vein of iCE MiLK TEi), and a new IOSYS one that’s still downloading because of slow-ass torrents. Expect me to write something about those if I don’t get sick of them just yet.

I need to write something about the Mountain of Faith demo too, so excuse me if Touhou’s not exactly your thing, ’tis the season. Ever since finding out that downgrading the game’s colours from 32bit to 16bit gives you a huge performance boost, I’ve been putting it to good use by playing a lot of Touhou the past few days since they actually run at full fps now, which is great because gameplay’s now as smooth as butter, but not so great because I’ve been having a hard time beating Marisa @ IN on Normal now, because I’ve been used to playing at 30-ish fps before this.

One more thing before I go to bed:

To all my readers, once again, thanks a lot. It’s been a month and a half already, and you can be sure that things only get better from here. It’s been great to have people tell me in the comments that they think the stuff I post is usually intelligent with the exception of the one they’re currently commenting on, cause hey, that shows you guys really pay careful attention to what I write, and I’m glad to have a discerning readership like that.

Of course, since I’m not the perfect anime blogger ~~just yet~~ there’s always the chance that I’ll get carried away sometimes and go off on odd tangents that not everyone might get, (like the wall of text I wrote a few posts back, been too worn out juggling exams and everything else to think of replies) so thanks too for putting up with my idiosyncrasies, whatever they are.

Maestro, Hung, if you’re reading this, thanks for listing me on your respective aggregators. Don’t think I’ve thanked you guys personally yet for all the traffic and other perks that come with being listed, so yeah. Much appreciative of it.

To end on a random note, Kanon Violin’s been a treat to listen to. Tunes like ????, ??, and ????? bring back memories of the beauty that was Kanon ‘06, and it’s nice to hear the sad girls in snow being given the Tamusic treatment, which means turning it into a solo violin arrangement with classical accompaniments. Too bad it’s in .ogg, but you know what they say about beggars…
